At Pine Creek, life moves a little slower. Our cozy cabins are designed to help you unwind, reconnect, and enjoy simple moments that restore your spirit. Whether you’re escaping for a quiet weekend or a peaceful reset, Pine Creek is an easy getaway from Chicago.
OUR HISTORY
Set directly across the street from the well-preserved White Pines Forest State Park, The Cabins at Pine Creek (formerly Pine Creek Family Cabins) were built in 2001 by Elizabeth George. After operating the 25 cabins, lodge restaurant, and gift shop within White Pines State Park for 12 years, Elizabeth recognized a need for accommodations that could better serve larger families and groups.
Elizabeth is also the creator of The Canyon at Pine Creek, formerly known as the Wedding Canyon—a venue that hosted hundreds of weddings over an 18-year span.
In 2019, Elizabeth passed the torch, and we have since brought our own care and vision to the property. The cabins have received much-needed updates while thoughtfully preserving their original charm. In 2024, we expanded the property with the addition of our fourth cabin, Cobblestone Cabin.
While weddings are no longer hosted at The Canyon, we are prayerfully and thoughtfully discerning its next purpose.
We are deeply thankful for the opportunity to steward these spaces and to continue welcoming guests to rest, reconnect, and make lasting memories at Pine Creek.
Our Owner
As owner and operator, Rebecca Wilson has a lifelong connection to The Cabins and The Canyon at Pine Creek. A mentee of the former owner, Rebecca began working on the grounds at just 13 years old and continued through her teen and college years. As owner and operator, she spent six wedding seasons helping host celebrations in the Wedding Canyon—an experience she considers a true honor.
As Rebecca’s life season shifted into marriage and motherhood, her vision for the property evolved as well. Now a busy mom to a stepdaughter and her first son, the focus has become building a values-driven, family-centered business.
“These are the sweetest years—having little ones at home. While I love creating memories for other families, I didn’t want to miss my own.”
Stewarding these special spaces is not taken lightly. The Wilson family has fully stepped in together to manage The Cabins at Pine Creek and The Rink at Pine Creek, which they purchased in late 2019. They approach each day with gratitude and intention, trusting God’s guidance as they continue caring for these places and discerning what’s next.
